For The Love Of Cooking...

I had been quiet and low. Fasting for 4 days in a row from Monday til Thursday.
The weather was intolerably hot. My regular routine..normal but was a bit drained by the hot weather. What did I do? Relaxed with my recipe books and surfing the Net. In my head I had 1001 menus to make. Monday, I was craving for Profiteroles or Cream Puff. I made it in small sizes with chocolate filling. Tuesday, Kanji Som Som, *recipe from Mum* tho the texture was not that smooth but still okay..sedap. Wednesday...beli Apam Balik at Pasar Malam, hehe. And Thursday, since I had bought daun pisang, I made Lopeh and Lepat Pisang.
Entah la..where did I get the energy from, especially in that kind of weather. And so my head was throbbing terribly that night...
Hmm, nothing can stop me from the things I like to do and that was 'for the love of cooking', I guess.

Come, let's enjoy the pictures.

See, how small it is, just enough to fit in your mouth.

'Doa Selamat'

Friday, 20th May, at 1o am.

I could have sent photos of Doa Selamat at Lina's house yesterday night. But was too tired and sleepy, yawning away a couple of times.
Anyway, the Doa Selamat was about her daughter Sarah Hannan who is leaving to UITM Melaka. Sarah Sarah!! I remembered you the little girl with Hyper Energy. And look at you now, you have grown into a sweet young lady! Anggun sekali! No more teasing or chasing the neighborhood kids ya, hehe!

Let's enjoy the photos.

Sitting in the middle is Sarah Hannan.

The recital was led by Puan Nur.

My Favorite Snacks..

Hi.
It didn't take me long to get some nice pictures for this entry. Nothing much, just something to share what we had for Tea. Absolutely no baking! Hehehe, kedai mari la!
These cookies are my favorites. I bought it at Mark and Spencer in One Utama. Ya, during my ronda2 while Hb's at physio. Dah jadi habit, petang2 mesti ada something to munch. It does bring back memories way back when I was young. I used to enjoy this cookies 'ginger Snap' with my Granfather for tea or tak kira time. I remembered him as a person with style...ada taste gitu...He loved good food and had it in small portions *tak makan banyak* Each time I had my Cookies or our favorite Chocolate 'Mars', I always think of him and Granma. Missed them dearly!
And Pretzels, yes! another snack that I love to munch..quite pricy, now. Bila time nak beli fikir 2/3 kali, nak kata sedap sangat tak juga, tapi I don't know, I loike!
Those days Biscuits and Chocolates were mostly imported. Now, that the exchange rates are high, so terasa mahal sangat just for a box of cookies. Tapi untuk menyahut seruan kerajaan, ada juga beli yang locals, but much to my disapointments, it's didn't taste nice at all *mengada2 I kan!*

Mari kita tengok gambar2 Snacks ku...

Hidangan Petang sambil menonton Sinatron!

Ginger Snap and Blackcurrant Puff.

Eek! tak abis2 Red Velvet Cake. Lagi lama lagi sedap!

Pretzels.

Nak tau, what's our Dinner last Night?

Spaghetty with Meat balls.

Bye for now. Wait for my next entry and I have plenty of photos to share 'Baca Yassin And Doa Selamat' at Lina's house.

Still Red Velvet....

Hi everyone!
Having families and friends who cared is a blessing. Aren't we lucky? Ohh, we definitely are. Who could not be thankful enough when you know you are being remembered.
Weekends and holidays like today *Vesak Day*, we normally had guest. And phone calls too, to know if we were ok...sooo sweet! It had been more than a year now, tho the warmth love I received were overwhelming. What else can I say, *A Million thanks* only Allah will repay you guys good Deeds. Hb, is doing alright after the Therapy, Alhamdullillah.
Berlari? oh, belum lagi..but he had improved.

Tuesday 17th, May.
My brother Nordin came with son Ilyas. It's been a while we had not met. I kinda missed my big brother and Jay dearly! I cooked Mee Goreng, and served some cupcakes. Earlier that afternoon I had baked another Red Velvet Cake but was still warmed, so tak ada rezeki nak pass some to my Sis In Law. Insyallah later okay?

Chatting away about current happenings!

My Son Syazwan entertained his Ayah Din.

The same day that evening, my friend Norizan came with her Hb Yaacob. They said Hb was looking great, Alhamdullillah! Lucky her, by that time my Red Velvet Cake was nicely covered with Cheese frosting. Yum yum! I honestly enjoyed myself eating it! I know, the cake was not high in calories, no butter but 1 1/2 cup of corn oil, 2 eggs and a cup of milk. But the topping absolutely high enough to make you fat and high in chollestrol, with butter, cream cheese, icing sugar and cream.
Woot, woot! For a moment, let's enjoy *The delightfully moist cake* Memang berbaloi!!
If you don't believe me, bake one today! The recipe is everywhere in the Net.

Norizan and Yaacob
Extremely Moist!!
I Should add more Red coloring.

Yum, yum! what delicious cake and enjoyed with a
cup of my favorite coffee.

Huh, nice Red!

Expressing My Feelings Thru Cooking!

Hello peeps, my life had been like a Roller Coaster the last few days...not in a right state of mind. Until the day came.. Thursday 12th, May, Hb had done another Therapy 'Stem Cell'. Transplant the new cells into the body to replace the dead cells.
How do I describe the feelings? Terlalu tertekan, terrified of what it's gonna be after the procedure. It was done in the Operation Theatre. My heart was pumping hard during the 40 minutes of the Therapy Transplant. Eventho, Doctor Zurin *Hb's doctor* told us it's nothing to worry, but still I can't helped myself. My 3 kids were all the time with me..thank you God, for that!..Alhamdullillah. They were what I needed at that time.

I was with my three Kids at the cafe in the Hospital.

Hb came out of the O.T 40 minutes later. He was sedated but was conscious when we were allowed to be with him at the Day Care Ward. He was not allowed to get up for 5 hours, and needed to rest until a few days. Alhamdullilah!! And we will pray for a speedy recovery.
Family of both side *Hb and mine* had been calling about Hb. Thank you guys, for your prayers!

Saturday, 14th, May.
Today, My Sister Teh came with her family to visit Hb. Thank you guys for the thoughts! I was more than happy on behalf of Hb. And I had cooked Mee Curry and Red Velvet cup Cakes with Cheese Frosting. Fifa had also baked, Lemon Curd Meringue Frosting Cup cake. And expected my Sister Intan to come. But she could not make it due to some appointments.
Well, I didn't promise earlier that I could cooked that much, I was really really tired mentally and physically, stressful of what we went through that few days. But the same time bersyukur teramat sangat and expressed it through my Food. Cooking is one of my channel of showing my gratitude towards the day happenings!

Helo, beratur ya!

Fifa's Lemon Curd Meringue frosting Cup Cake

My first time baking Red Velvet Cup Cake.
Delicious, will bake again!

Thanks Sis, I know you were full, but for the sake of taking our hearts
Fifa and me, you had to eat both cakes.

Some Things to Share.....

Me and my Sister Intan.

I don't know why I am so in the mood of blogging. I think I have a lot of going on in my life that I find interesting to share.
After sending Hb to Pantai on Monday morning, Fifa and I headed to my Sister Intan's house at Taman Tun. B.I.L Nizar took us breakfast somewhere not very far from their house. They called the small Cafe 'Jejak Kasih'. Small yet cosy. Exactly a nice place to past your time and tasty Kueh tasted like homemade food.
Guess who we met ?? This guy is an actor and acted in one of the popular sitcom *Gol and Gincu* His name is Razif. I addressed myself as Aunty *ye la.. he must be around my son's age* untuk bergambar. Tak sombong pun, quite obliging kat makcik2 ni, and not to mention, good looking too. Kelakar, he even said sorry for not being in a proper attire *he prefers to be in Tuxedo kut* hehehe.

B.I.L Nizar approached the actor...
Our table was just next to his.

Siap bergambar lagi.

Meanwhile on Saturday...

I think I can bake Bread like The Loaf.
Just add loads of Nuts, raisins, seeds,
good butter and Sprinkle sugar
on the top.

And for Hubby, less Sugar.

Tho I think baking my own bread is as good as it
taste as Cafes, but why do I still eat out??
maybe I love the ambiance?
or with good company? or maybe I
need to tastes some differences or maybe
I just love to spend....

It does not matter whatever the reasons are. Do what you think is right.
And follow your heart, pamper yourself at times!!!

Adios for now!!
