Some Things to Share.....

Me and my Sister Intan.

I don't know why I am so in the mood of blogging. I think I have a lot of going on in my life that I find interesting to share.
After sending Hb to Pantai on Monday morning, Fifa and I headed to my Sister Intan's house at Taman Tun. B.I.L Nizar took us breakfast somewhere not very far from their house. They called the small Cafe 'Jejak Kasih'. Small yet cosy. Exactly a nice place to past your time and tasty Kueh tasted like homemade food.
Guess who we met ?? This guy is an actor and acted in one of the popular sitcom *Gol and Gincu* His name is Razif. I addressed myself as Aunty *ye la.. he must be around my son's age* untuk bergambar. Tak sombong pun, quite obliging kat makcik2 ni, and not to mention, good looking too. Kelakar, he even said sorry for not being in a proper attire *he prefers to be in Tuxedo kut* hehehe.

B.I.L Nizar approached the actor...
Our table was just next to his.

Siap bergambar lagi.

Meanwhile on Saturday...

I think I can bake Bread like The Loaf.
Just add loads of Nuts, raisins, seeds,
good butter and Sprinkle sugar
on the top.

And for Hubby, less Sugar.

Tho I think baking my own bread is as good as it
taste as Cafes, but why do I still eat out??
maybe I love the ambiance?
or with good company? or maybe I
need to tastes some differences or maybe
I just love to spend....

It does not matter whatever the reasons are. Do what you think is right.
And follow your heart, pamper yourself at times!!!

Adios for now!!

Happy Mother's Day!

To All Mums, I'm wishing you "Happy Mother's Day!"

Before I was a Mom-
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom-
I cleaned my house each day and I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunisations.

Before I was a Mom-
I had never been puked on- pooped on- spit on- chewed on, or peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom-
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do test...or give shots.
I never gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom-
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put down.
I never felt my heart break into million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom-
Ididn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that somethings so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom-
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 mins to make
sure all was okay.
I had never know The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache,
The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom

And remember that behind every successful woman....
is a basket of dirty laundry.

This Cappucino Cheese Cake was given to me by my kids.
Thank you, thank you from the
bottom of my heart!

We celebrate this special occasion only one day in a year. They say, everyday should be a special day for Mum. I do agree on that! But it's alright to me, tak kan nak beli cake and buy presents everyday. To me, once a year having to get gifts *ehem, kalau ada la..* or go out having special lunch/dinner with our kids is fine!
But, by expressing love and kind words and good deeds, helpfulness etc, etc... to Mum everyday, is the best thing we should do!!

With all my Love on this Special Day to All Mothers!!

Jasmin and her baby *mukriz*

A Grand Welcome to the New GrandNephew *Baby Mukriz* to Pah Cik and Tok Lan's house. My Sister Intan, her two daughters Jasmin and Kamelia with baby Mukriz *jasmin's baby* came over at lunch time. My dear niece Kamelia, requested that I cook something special for them. I cooked rice with simple dishes. And baked something not so healthy....*Quiche* for tea...Bengka la kot, in malay, hehe.
Very rich indeed!! high in calories of course, with cheese, butter, plenty of eggs, cream and milk.

It's soggy, should bake another 15 mins or so.

Chicken Pie With Vegetable Oil Crust.

Not long ago, I had planned for a healthy cooking, remember? It's a good thing to start and practice. As of lately, I heard a few of people that I knew passed away because of Diebetes, Stroke and Heart Attack. It's really sad, when you know Food is the cause. But who is to be blamed? Adakah Tukang Masak.... like Me? Oh tidak!! nak tak nak admit! you are the Cook! What ever you cook in your Kitchen makes the people around you what they are. Makan di luar tu tak healthy actually, but it's tasty, I know! because I love to eat out. Jemu la masak hari2. And to my kids, please, please be careful of what you're eating outside.
Like I always said 'Eat small portion of food' and don't forget to exercise. At least walking in the evening/morning about half and hour 3 times a week is good enough. Live a healthy lifestyle!
I hope when I cook, I have to make sure that it's not over with calories. I always got carried away with the sooo inviting recipes that contain lots of sugar and fats.

I was trying my best today, to look for healthy recipes through the Net. I wanted to make Pie Crust that made of Vegetable Oil, so I found it! But mak oii! sakit tanggan dan jari jermari ku, the dough was kinda dry, keras, and susah sangat nak uli. I was making Chicken Pie by the way, and somehow I managed to roll the dough *lengguh giler* into the casserole. I thought it would not taste good, but Wow! I was surprised, it was good! *nyampah kan perasan selalu* But no kidding, it was crusty but not keras. It's worth the effort *menguli*

It tasted better than it looks.

Yummy! and healthy.

And something that I learned recently, I used to bake at 200 degrees F. And this time, my bread tasted delicious after I baked at 220 degrees F. No strong taste of yeast anymore!

Love baking Bread!

On a Hot day with Lemon Meringue Cup Cake!

2nd May, Monday.
A hot, hot day! The weather was terribly warm and humid. You got irritated easily with everything you do on a weather like this. I did not feel like doing anything that will exert me *being in the kitchen, for example or even being out in the garden* All I want to be is in an air con room.
And neither Hb nor me could stand any longer being out in an open air at Restaurant Tupai Tupai. Rasa nak buka....? panas! walaupun ada fan but hot air that was blowing on you. Na uzubillah!! I should not be grumbling too much, it's God's willing!
Syazwan has taken us to a *supposed to be* cozy and relaxing place in the heart of K.l. He had been telling me of this place for quite sometime. But on a weather like this memang makan apa pun you dont enjoy.

Once back home, quickly changed into my loose garment and watched my Soap Opera. Relaxed until 5 p.m. The feeling of MALAS NAK MASAK, memang *too much* kalau dilayan, I kena lawan kan. What else could I think of, the easiest food.... my Pasta! Better not show this time.
At the same time, my darling *girl* was in the Mood to bake. She baked *Lemon Meringue Cup Cake* It was nice, seriously! with Lemon Curd Filling and Meringue topping.
Well, siapa lagi nak puji*Master Chef* Papa la.. sampai bagi points tinggi lagi!

First, bake the Cup Cake.

Then, make a hole and insert the Lemon
Curd Filling into the cake.

Put Meringue Topping on top of the Cup Cake
and grill it for a few minutes until it change
color not burnt like this!

Done!

For me and Hb!

The Royal Wedding!

Friday 29th April.
The whole world waited for the Royal Wedding between Prince William and Katherine Middleton since they announced their Engagement last November. Oh yes! Who would want to miss the Wedding of the Decade. And that includes me and my entire family.
The last Royal Wedding showed Live to the world in U.K was in 1981, about 30 years ago between Lady Diana and Prince Charles. And now we got to watch their son's wedding, look at how time flies. Tho, The wedding of Modern and stylish but still like a Fairy Tale to me. The Horse Carriage for the Royal Couple and there were few modern buses to ferry the entourage, a combination of both Modern and Old. And I love Kate's Wedding Dress, not elaborate but Simply Stylish with Lace covered her top body, by designer Sarah Burton. And whatever it was 'A dream come true' for Kate. May they lived happily ever after!

While this picture was taken, I was seated next to
Dr Rowan Atkinson *Mr Bean*.....JUST KIDDING!! hahaha!!
Actually I was seated next to Hb in our house lol!

Tea for the Royal Occasion.
Before that Hb had wanted me to prepare something to munch for the Royal Occasion. So its gonna be Royal tea for us then. Well, I did of course. It's something very fast and simple. It's 'Oats honey slice'.. a bit too sweet. I lupa there's honey and I should put less sugar. Anyway, we still enjoyed the ' The Royal Slice' and the Royal show hehehe.

I let it cooled, then to the serving plate.

Enjoy the long weekend! Bye.
