Loafty Discount For Breakfast..and Plants.

Wednesday, 8th June.
This morning Hb and me bergegas ke The Loaf Empire Subang after receiving 2 calls from my Cousin Megat asking where we were...jam la. Oh no, no! bukan emergency....but 50 percent sale on bread and pastries for Members only at The Loaf. Cheap skate betoi orang2 di K.l, pantang dengar sale. You had to queue to get your order. Come to think of it, sale apa, we spent 50 ringgit just for breakfast. Anyway, we had fun there, sembang2 while enjoying the supposed to be sale food from 10 a.m till almost 12.00 p.m. Too bad, terlupa nak snap our food. That was branch for us breakkfast and lunch. We had Tun Japanese curry and some sweet pastries with coffee. Later, Hb and me bought some groceries at Jaya Grosser.

We were back almost 1 p.m and guess what I did? Arranging my pots of plants in my garden as the weather was quite kind to me today. Satisfied, but need to replant some old plants that looked *hidup segan mati tak mahu* hehe.

Meanwhile.. our dinner last night.

Perfecto...but hmm..

We normally will get attracted with lovely looking food, perfecto! Hmm..yum yum!!
But don't be deceived by the looks! The carrot cupcake was not what I expected to taste like after all...
Argh!! Grrr.... I wasted 8 eggs, sugar, carrots, flour, and cheese. I was baking Carrot CupCake and when it's about to cook I suddenly remembered I did not add oil into the batter. Huhuhu, grrrr....m. It tasted like Apam, spongy but dry. Apam with Cheese Topping hehe.
I was supposed to bake for my neighbor Linda House Warming. What a waste!!! Somehow never mind, it looked pretty and I thought it would made nice pictures for my post.





We attended our neighbor Linda's house warming later that night without the cupcakes, of course!

Ever since we came back from Ipoh, we were out everyday to Physio and medical appointment. Prff!! Kaki ni dah lenguh menekan accelerator...
Physio is important, it helped Hb to strengthen his hands muscles. Alhamdullilah, the fingers are starting to move. Then we would have lunch outside.. Normally when we eat rice for lunch, malam I would cooked something simple like noodles, pasta or bread.

A Short Trip Home...

My Sister Teh and Me

I drove back to Ipoh with Hb and my maid on Monday morning. We stayed for two days and one night...memang tak puas. We decided to visit our Parents. It's been a long time we had not gone back, about one year 3 months. And there we were, back to our Hometown. We were missing not only our family but the place we both grew up. Truthfully I would say, kinda sad of how our life had changed. We stayed at Tower Regency Hotel in the heart of Ipoh Town.

We didn't mean to disappoint anyone, but for Hb's convenient we had to.

Never could I imagine at this age I have bigger responsibilities towards Hb. Kalau dulu, Hb had done almost everything for me, I would just lazed my butt off and relaxed...Huhuhu! I was a spoilt brad! once upon a time... not anymore, hehe. Why did I say that? Well ya.. I had to drive all the way to Ipoh, did the booking at Hotel Counter, carry our luggage up to our room etc, etc... But I thank Allah for giving me such strength, and to accept what it's meant to be... Alhamdullillah!

It took me about 2 hours from my house to reached my Mums..*laju ke* And we had our lunch at Hb's parents. Exhausted? Oh yes, lega bila sampai..stressed when you had to concentrate on the road and having to drive next to an experienced driver *Hb*
My Sister Teh and her Hb fetched us to Mum's house after we checked in. Seronoknya... everyone were there, my youngest sister Liza, my two brothers, but very sorry for my sister In law Jay, we did not get to meet. But was glad my cousin bro Yeop Jamil joined us for dinner at Andersonian's club. Served Indian food, Nasi Beriani, Parata bread, Naan and curries.

The next day we checked out around 9.30 am. Before we shoot off to K.L we stopped to meet my in laws and my family. Reached K.L around 2.50 p.m. What a trip, tho short, but it's so meaningful to me...

For The Love Of Cooking...

I had been quiet and low. Fasting for 4 days in a row from Monday til Thursday.
The weather was intolerably hot. My regular routine..normal but was a bit drained by the hot weather. What did I do? Relaxed with my recipe books and surfing the Net. In my head I had 1001 menus to make. Monday, I was craving for Profiteroles or Cream Puff. I made it in small sizes with chocolate filling. Tuesday, Kanji Som Som, *recipe from Mum* tho the texture was not that smooth but still okay..sedap. Wednesday...beli Apam Balik at Pasar Malam, hehe. And Thursday, since I had bought daun pisang, I made Lopeh and Lepat Pisang.
Entah la..where did I get the energy from, especially in that kind of weather. And so my head was throbbing terribly that night...
Hmm, nothing can stop me from the things I like to do and that was 'for the love of cooking', I guess.

'Doa Selamat'

Friday, 20th May, at 1o am.

I could have sent photos of Doa Selamat at Lina's house yesterday night. But was too tired and sleepy, yawning away a couple of times.
Anyway, the Doa Selamat was about her daughter Sarah Hannan who is leaving to UITM Melaka. Sarah Sarah!! I remembered you the little girl with Hyper Energy. And look at you now, you have grown into a sweet young lady! Anggun sekali! No more teasing or chasing the neighborhood kids ya, hehe!

My Favorite Snacks..

Hi.
It didn't take me long to get some nice pictures for this entry. Nothing much, just something to share what we had for Tea. Absolutely no baking! Hehehe, kedai mari la!
These cookies are my favorites. I bought it at Mark and Spencer in One Utama. Ya, during my ronda2 while Hb's at physio. Dah jadi habit, petang2 mesti ada something to munch. It does bring back memories way back when I was young. I used to enjoy this cookies 'ginger Snap' with my Granfather for tea or tak kira time. I remembered him as a person with style...ada taste gitu...He loved good food and had it in small portions *tak makan banyak* Each time I had my Cookies or our favorite Chocolate 'Mars', I always think of him and Granma. Missed them dearly!
And Pretzels, yes! another snack that I love to munch..quite pricy, now. Bila time nak beli fikir 2/3 kali, nak kata sedap sangat tak juga, tapi I don't know, I loike!
Those days Biscuits and Chocolates were mostly imported. Now, that the exchange rates are high, so terasa mahal sangat just for a box of cookies. Tapi untuk menyahut seruan kerajaan, ada juga beli yang locals, but much to my disapointments, it's didn't taste nice at all *mengada2 I kan!*
