My Prune and Fruit Cakes

Hi everyone!
Long break.. yes! No time to update and loads of photos and stories to share here. But, some photos were blur, that's because my camera has lost it's intelligent mode. Frustrated... but... Hb got me a new one.. a 'Sony' with 16.2 Mega Pixels. For this Entry the photos were from the old camera.
The most worrying and saddening occasion on this Raya was when my cousin Megat Mustapha Kamal was admitted in Subang Medical Centre on the Eve of Raya and he was sent to CCU on the 3rd of Raya.. but Alhamdullillah after several days there, he was stablized. I went to see him him this morning with Hb.

Well, I will start with the 1st day of Raya.
My girl Fifa and son Syazwan left to Ipoh around 12pm, while Syafiq has to stay to take care of us..*wink*

Hb's cousin Azizah and Family came around 3.30 to our place. She has 8 children, 2 daughter in laws and 3 grandchildren. His eldest son and family are in U.K. Can you imagine, the crowds in my house...They arrived in 5 cars. We were thrilled.




My youngest Aunty, Wan chu..came around late evening with 4 of her children, daughter/son in laws and about 14 grandchildrens. Rumah ku bagai nak runtuh dengan gelak ketawa. As I always said, who talked and who listened. But we understood each other very well..hehe.
I was so so glad that all my Rendang and what not, habis di makan.

Hb's cousin Fauziah *sister of Azizah* came with with 5 children, plus Azizah and some of her kids again. I cooked Lontong and Sup Tulang.

Di Pagi Raya....

'SELAMAT MENYAMBUT AIDIL FITRI'

Hari Lebaran telah tiba. Ampun dan maaf dipinta. Sekiranya ada terkasar bahasa atau tersinggung dengan cara penulisan saya, sepuluh jari saya hulur kan agar diampun salah dan silap. Dengan itu marilah kita sama2 bergembira setelah sebulan beribadah dan berpuasa. Ada umur panjang dapat kita berjumpa dengan Ramadhan Al Mubarak lagi ditahun akan datang...insyallah.

Hello everyone. Selamat Menyambut Aidil Fitri. I had a long day yesterday preparing juadah2 for Raya. Lenguh kaki dan tangan mengacau lauk pauk.I had done my Chicken Rendang, Beef Curry, Rendang Dinding Paru2, kuah satay and Ketupat pulut. Hmmmmm... the house smelled of Raya! I baked 4 Prune Cakes, for Mum, MIL, my Aunty, for Me and One Fruit cake and Red Velvet for the house. Dengan berkat sabar alhamdullillah, I got my baju Raya... my tailor had called me on Saturday...yahoo!

Raya Morning...
Was up early to prepare juadah2 that I had cooked, with the *feel of Raya* Tho, away from the rest of my family, *memang sunyi* but I have here, my love ones Hb and kids to celebrate with...alhamdullillah.
I served them with my own cooking, sedap tak sedap but air tangan ku from loving wife and Mum.

Minta Ampun dengan penuh perasaan....
semoga moga tak mengulangi kesalahan...

Cookies...

I started baking cookies on Saturday, but stop on Monday, for Hb usual Physio..continued again on Tuesday. Knowing me, what I had in mind of cookies to make and turned out the other round. Okay so far, but in my heart I wanted to make a lot more. But as the time did not permit me to do so *baju Raya pun tak ada lagi* I was thinking of wondering around looking for Raya stuff at the booth at Shopping Complex while Hb at Physio. Not many days left actually, as Aidil Fitri is somewhere early next week. Anyway, whatever... without Baju Raya pun tak apa...asalkan bahagia..
I had guest, my nephew in law Nizam Open Fast for two nights in my house. So, let's see what I had cooked for Iftar and what cookies I had baked.

Tart recipe from Rima. It was nice compared to what the
normal Tart I used to make.

Mum Got Carried Away...

Friday 19th Aug.
Whooh! Look at the Food,...my son Syazwan gave that remark while sending the food picture to his FB.. After a few days of simple Cooking, I decided to cook a little extra as my niece Izian and her friend Belle came for Open Fast. I totally got hooked up in the kitchen from one menu to another. Initially, it was just some simple Malay dishes like Izian's favorite Sambal Tumis Petai, Kailan and Fried Tenggiri, then added some Western.. Roast chicken with baby potatoes and tomatoes together with Salad and sauce.
Ada side dishes 'Laksa Lemak' And what's for Dessert?...Baked Corn Caramel Pudding...loved it, it's so soft *gebu* and rich...I added cream. Ops, I bukan nak promote, but it was nice, you won't get enough when you eat it *tak muak , gitu...hehe.
And my two kids Syafiq and Fifa, bought Satay, *of all the food, satay* some extra they said for their cousin.

So, apalagi...come let the pictures do the talking....
