Christmas Day...

Hellooooo..
I just couldn't wait to update this entry.. I have some photos to share.. what I did on Christmas day and the day before Christmas. Though I don't celebrate Christmas but it's a holiday...taking advantages for a great time visiting and get together with our love ones on this day. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish my readers and friends a Merry Christmas.

On Christmas day..
My niece Ida and her family were supposed to spend a night at my place on Sunday. Some thing turned up..a bit depressing for Fifa really, she had planned to spent time with the twins and Alya. So I invited them for lunch on this day which was 'Christmas day'.

As for someone who loves making nice presentation on her food setting.. I decided to have Whole Chicken baked with potatoes, pumpkins and green peas with Butter Rice....*syok sendiri as on Christmas day!*

My nephew Taqi *Ida's brother* who intentionally had wanted to visit us on this day, joined us lunch. Holiday brings people together..

My eldest son wasn't around to share the joy with the cousins. I don't really know where exactly he went...eating out with some friends, according to him. Hmm..the thoughts of with some friends tu mencurigakan..maybe with a special friend *wink*

 The adorable twins

On Christmas Eve...
My dear good friend Ezah visited us on  Monday 24th Dec who came all the way from Kuantan.  She and family were late due to flood that strike Kuantan that morning. They arrived around 6.30 pm and I had some food already prepared for them.

 With Eza..

She requested Red Velvet Cake...must have!

It's close to 6 years she had not visited me at my house but chatted a lot on the phone. We missed each other of course.. we yak and yak all through the evening catching up what we had left.

I did not join them eating, busy serving and very pleased with their presence that I can't helped myself watching them enjoying the food. As though I got the Menus right for them...yeah! they loved it!

What's in the tureen? Beef tomato soup.

Amboi..when girls are concerned...

Cakes has been her favorite ever since I know her. Not a problem making what she likes especially  the food that she was dying to have my food shown in my blog. Haha..She missed my food she said. And showed sign of satisfaction on her face after the last plate cleaned. Instead of salad as a starter she has chosen a slice of RVC.. You need to control on desserts, eh, Eza...Jangan marah!

That was what's left of the cake..
Tapow some for her to munch for supper..
Thanks Ezza for coming all the way to meet us, me and Hb dearest. The little time that we had, was enough to heal our longing for the years being apart...don't  wait another 6 years for our next meeting...ya Ezza. And I hope, you keep on reading my Blog..okay.

Okay then, till we meet again, Insyallah.

Too much Gas, keeps me burping through the day..

My lovely Yellow Orchid

Asalamualaikum..
Miss me? I am not in the best of health this few days..my gastric is back making my life dull and miserable.. Got hold of Eviline tablets before every meals and two more medicine 3 times a day.  It's all because of food. It started when I went to a friend's kenduri and then melangkah lagi ke Hartini's Restoran at section 10 Shah Alam menjamu selera with sambals, ulaman, the siput sedut and the no. one culprit..*petai* those food was to die for...memang pun! I tell you, it's so berselera.. I couldn't get enough. I didn't care what will happen next...lesson not learned!
Western food that I love to cook but the one that drool me more is always the kampung delicacies. See, that's why I am glad for not cooking rice/kampung food in the house often, or else I would be double the size I am now and burping out gas all the time. Also thanks to my family that prefer light and easy food.
Still moving around, even though in poor health. Yes, we were out quite often and eat out most of the time..*and burping all the way, lol!*

Let me share some Menus that I prepared/eat out and the places I went last week..

Tonight..Sunday 23rd Dec..

Dinning at Mohd Chan somewhere in my neighborhood. Nothing to shout about...Okay, a lot of varieties to choose. Slightly soggy and oily for someone who burps alot...
At least, I don't have to go so far looking for Chinese food.
Our lunch today, Fried fish for the Gastric patient, Ikan Bawal with
sambal goreng and not so lemak Udang with Taugeh kasar.

For Tea..yesterday, Saturday

Moist Raisin Cake
This Raisin Cake actually was from my Moist Date Cake recipe. I had a box of raisins that's going to be expired soon. So I baked, Wallah! and never regret it. It's moist and soft..It melt in the mouth.
You can even have it with Caramel sauce like in the Date Cake recipe

 With Caramel sauce.

My none other, 'boring Pasta'...for lunch yesterday.

Going to Pasar Malam is a must.. to buy fruits and fresh prawns..We love fruits..

Pulasan, banana and Duku langsat.

And, this is my favorite and so does my Mum...Persimmon

Like all Mum, thinking of what to cook gives you a headache. Lastly ended with packed fast food 'roti canai' and of course homemade fish curry.

We didn't usually take this roti canai in our meal..very very rare.
But this was very very tasty, bought back from Trengganu by a friend.

The favorite Mums Nasi Ayam

 Fried Meehoon

What was I up to?
Pushing the furniture around all by myself and trying to organize this section into a gossip corner..Auww! mana ada gossip and with whom nak bergossip.. Hb dearest couldn't be the best of pals to gossip lol. Tak ada kerja cari kerja.. Whooh! my body was aching all over the next day..but I just love the new look.

Thursday..
My girl had just finished her last paper *exam* on Wednesday.. so off we went to Bangsar ..still looking for my colored kettle. Sad, masih tak ada yang di cari.. Since my darling girl is on 2 weeks holiday we took her lunched at Basil Thai Food .

And my gastric got worse after having this delicious Thai Food at Bangsar Village.
The Tom Yam was soo good and so as the Mango Salad.

Then...
..was saved by the bell..hehe, got helped from daughter dearest to prepare dinner .Can't take anymore of outside food! Lucky I have a bidan terjun chef in the house..thumbs up !!
And above photo was cooked by my Fifa 'Cottage Pie' that same day as the Gastric and throbbing headache melanda diri ku.. burping every minutes..
She started to be in the kitchen at 5.30pm and served around 8.00pm. Both boys were back early...hanging around the kitchen as well. And loved what their baby sister cooked and had cleaned their plates at one sitting. Hmm...love the sight when the siblings worked together!

Last Sunday, 17th Dec, Wedding at Bukit Kiara

A friend Zuraidah, invited me to her youngest daughter's wedding.  It's another beautiful wedding I've ever been. It was held at Bukit Kiara's Club house. But too bad I did not carry my camera along with me. Using my phone was kind of difficult as I was seated rather far from the stairs where the bride and groom passing through. The club itself is so beautiful and spacious that made the wedding so grand.

Picture is rather blurr, the father of the bride walked down the stairs
 giving the bride away..so sweet.

Zue and Me..
The door gifts

Last Saturday..16th Dec
Kenduri at Maria's place..

The house is absolutely big and spacious. It's about 20,000 sq ft.. belongs to Maria and Zainuddin. They are Hb's friends who studied together in UK. We are considered close, a good Golf buddy to Hb once upon a time. And a good story teller, Maria. Always enjoyed their company.
The food served that day was really really finger licking good..really. With  a few sambals and ulam, how could I resist such serving. And durians were served on every tables...yummy!
Maria in blue..time to say our goodbye.

Yawnnning away... night everyone!
Must get a good night sleep, tomorrow my old friend from far away is coming for tea..insyallah.
Adios..

Good Feelings..

Aslamualaikum..
The feeling was good! I was happy today.. I had my 'Me time' this afternoon. Went to Parkson Grand Subang Parade...solo. I thanked my daughter as she accompanied Papa and took care of lunch as well.
It was about time to get my Advance Night Repair and some personal things.. Took advantages of this day.. Bonus Link day that offered 5 x bonus link points. There were free gifts and not only that but vouchers when you purchase at certain amount. So, it's worth waiting for this day. I was like a little girl who got new toys and never gonna let go..

Advance Night repair and some goodies

My hair has been falling *gugur* since... all I know it's been very looong time already. Was recomended the Himalaya Herbal Shampoo and the herbal protein cream and oil...no harm trying.
After having what I needed, then...spoiled myself with a bowl of  Assam Laksa at Uncle Lim..Hmm...lepas kempunan.

Assam Laksa

 Meanwhile...
All my kids under the same roof..but everyone is busy like bees. No one is home at day time. Peaceful as can be with only this two old couple together... At times, laughing away...but there were times arguing over patty little things, sob, sob...  but it didn't take long to resolve our relationship, hehe..fun lol. How else to kill the time, kalau tak cari problem... tak happening!

This was for dinner for the old birds..
Pasta Olio with prawns and fried Salmon with garlic.
And went out to enjoy the day 'mencuci mata' ...That afternoon, Thursday, Hb and me went to Pavilion to collect my Handbag that I sent for repair.

Christmas is here! well, that was the scene at Pavilion.

Our lunch..

"Happy Birthday to You!''
Last Sunday 9th, Dec..
A Birthday lunch was celebrated in the house...Food came straight from Mum's kitchen.
My second son Syaf's birthday.. The person who sprinkle spice to our lives. Who change the day from gloomy to sunny. From sour to sweet and sometime spicy and hot! When I say A, he would say B. My darling son, different in many ways...adorable in his own way..you could melt, when he put on his charm! Oh No....!
Happy Birthday dear, may you be blessed abundantly on this day and the years to come.

Birthday Cake...Orange Poppy Seed Cake

Lasagna always his favorite..

The three sibbling  had upset stomach after taken some food..can't really tell whether from our kitchen or outside food.

Could it be this salad that cause the virus?
This salad I made..the dressing was a bit too sour..and the
croutons was baked with garlic and butter.

Definitely not this pasta..it was done fresh just before we ate

Started from my eldest son who vomited/diarrhea at 4 am in the morning. My second.. also threw out feeling giddy/nausea then followed by my youngest. Thank God! we both were not affected.
Menu..changed to soupy and soft food that few days..no one seemed to be in the mood.

Alhamdullillah, everyone has recovered and back doing their normal thing...
Till then...have a good weekend and do have good feelings with the love ones...
Adios!

Color changes your mood....

Asalam..
Look at the time... it flew away leaving us with incidents that stay but sometime..  went by off our mind just like that. And all had happened, was a lesson that could help us to correct ourselves. But, that only depends... whether we take that as a lesson or at worst scenario as a punishment. Normally, we just sobbed through out those times and do nothing..not making any changes in life even..no progress.
Sigh...trying to live to except life as it is... easy but hard to do. As we know that life is uncertain of what you will get in the near future. We never seemed to look at the positive side but always the negative. And makes life so complex. Then blame it on life. Even, if we look at the positive side..if things is going to happen, it continue to happen. Though, that's the truth... life is such, fair or not... we have to carry on with what ever undertaking that will be given to us. Don't get tangle up and try not to blow a fuse for nothing.Only by accepting it with a mind that had been set or channel it to the way you want it, insyaallah we will love what we are doing and not blaming on fate. I hope I bare that in my mind.
Nothing is simple in this world..but you can always try to make life interesting.

Two months had passed..being a Madame cum maid to  my own house, so far okay, alhamdullillah..I am still coping. I slept early almost every night and wake up extra early in the morning..lastly landed on the sofa during the afternoon...penat, lol.

Do you know that Colors can change your mood?

Orange makes you feel excited

Seeing Red makes us faster and stronger.
And it also associated with Love, Warmth and Comfort.

Chicken sandwiches
Blue is the color of Sky and Sea..It's the color of
Pure and Calm
Those colors I had choose to brighten up my kitchen.. I got the Orange Pot from a friend...I love it.
Whilst the Red Teapot and the blue plate was from my Granma's collection which has been given to me long long time ago. All the while I didn't take notice that I have plenty of radiant colors on my shelves. Now, when ever I be at my kitchen.. it will cheer me up..insyallah!

Enough for this entry sharing those two radiant and one calming color... maybe in the next entry will try to bring and share more.

Thursday..
I cooked a few dishes yesterday...and burp! nikmat makan yang tak terhingga. Strange but true, when you take charge of the kitchen, berselera makan menjadi jadi,.ish, ish!
And for dinner yesterday.. just a simple chicken sandwiches.

Top left, Fried bean sprout, Fried prawns,
Masak Lemak Cendawan and that Fish roe was the best...served
with warm rice..thanks to Sis Leeza who brought back from Sarawak.

Monday..
We went to Mid Valley..with Hb and my daughter. It's been sometime, she had not joined us. Wondering around at The Gardens and especially Robbinsons, made me so alive with all the bright colors on display. Don't ask me the price.. please, it's ridiculously expensive...but I wish to have those for my kitchen. Nanti, simpan duit banyak2 then I will get what I must have... heehee
We stopped for lunch at Chili's.

What a spread...

This is mine..heehee
At Metrojaya, seronok bila bab menjamu mata walaupun tak membeli. Tak membeli? hehe...adalah a few things at the Living Quaters...nothing much to buy after all, but just for the fun of going out together. Do you believe that when you look at beautiful things..it will drain down your stress or you become more stress if you cannot have it? Well... look at the positive side.

Fried Lamb with rice on Sunday

Monday..

Fried rice for lunch for the two of us..

Nice ya..having our lunch at our small Island in the kitchen
Can you believe it..we never had our meal there ever since we had a maid.
Our dinner on Tuesday...'Light and Easy'

Wednesday...Girls Day Out..
Since Fifa had no class on that day, I got green light by Hb dearest to spent time with K.Shidah and Dina to Rohani's house in Bukit Jelutong. She had invited us for lunch in her new house...beautiful, simple yet very elegant to me. The setting and placing of furniture was in the right places. And were served nasi Padang cooked by her maid.. Hmm..lebih baik dari Ratu Sari

Rohani..

The very famous Durian Crepe..prepared by the hostess..

Nice setting..

The day didn't end at Ani's house..we proceeded to Subang Bistari to another friend's house Zurinah. Still..too much food were served on the table..Well, this is how Malaysian entertain guest, I supposed.

Zurinah has plenty of nice selection of crockery..from all sorts of brand. Phew, juling mata I..
